wp-Member Description

wp-Member is a plugin for wordpress which adds advanced membership, registration, content protection, payment processing and automated user management functions to your existing wordpress blog. Although wp-Member includes advanced features, you do not need to have any previous experience to be able to use all of the features within wp-Member. Once wp-Member is running on your wordpress site, you will be able to charge users to access select areas of your website, accepting payments via Paypal, Authorize.net and Google Checkout. Each payment option can be activated or deactivated to meet your requirements and payment preferences. Using wp-Member, you can quickly and easily create membership sites using wordpress.

Using wp-Member you can restrict access to each post, page or category by selecting one or more membership levels. Blocks of content can also be hidden, providing teaser content and requiring registration for the user to be able to see the full content of a teaser post or page. You can create as many membership levels as you want. Each membership level can have unlimited subscriptions for any price with a frequency ranging from 1 day to 99 years. All available subscriptions are displayed on your registration page where users will be able to select one during registration.

wp-Member allows you to easily revolutionize your registration page from a bland and basic layout to a uniquely styled and branded professional registration page. Completely customize your registration page by adding extra fields such as tick boxes, drop down menus, text fields, text areas and pre-formatted options such as the users country, date of birth and your website terms. Adding terms and conditions to your registration page will require members to agree to your terms before they can proceed. Each field you add to the registration process can be set as “required” (which will urge the user to provide an answer before they can proceed) or “optional” (which will allow the user to enter an answer, or leave the answer blank).

The following two images show an example of all of the custom registration fields you can easily add. The first image shows the default registration screen that is used when you first install wp-Member. The second image shows an edited registration image, which you can upload within wp-Member to brand your registration page.

Fully Automated Registration, Payment Processing and User Management

When a user registers on your wordpress site, they will instantly be sent to complete their payment using Paypal, Authorize.net or Google Checkout (depending which options you have selected within wp-Member). Once the payment has been completed, your wordpress site will be notified of the confirmed payment (which is usually instant) and the users account will automatically be activated.

If any of your members cancel their subscription, or misses a payment their account will be suspended. When they login to your wordpress site, they will be asked to update their payment before they can access your site again. Once your member updates their payment, their account will automatically be reactivated. If they do not update their payment, they will be unable to access any protected areas of your site.
