  • Upgrade/Downgrade – This option was failing to correctly add members subscription details to their accounts. This has now been corrected.

How to charge for wordpress plugins

Any one that uses WordPress know that one of the isolated shortcomings of WordPress is that it is deficient in is an integrated method of charging for membership subscriptions and the lack of ability to provide multi levelled memberships.

The ideal solution for this shortage is the WP-Member package. This is an easy to install membership subscription plug-in especially designed for use with WordPress websites and blogs to enable users to control website membership subscriptions or setting various levels of memberships, but will make it possible for webmasters to charge for the effect these WordPress plug-ins create.

Contrasting to other plug-ins that enable website owners to charge for memberships, you are not restricted to only one level of membership where the complete site is locked if you are not a paid and registered member. WP-Member allows several layers of access and can be set according to different payment charges and allow you to hide categories in WordPress.

Apart from these versatile options, it is still possible to lock the complete site if you would want it to be only accessible to registered members.

Customize Paid Member WordPress PlugIn to Precision

This flexible WP-Member plug-in allows you to prescribe precisely how your WordPress blog or website should operate.

With these adaptable features you can:

  • Develop a multi-level membership system and learn how to charge for WordPress plug-ins such as different levels of subscription. The higher the level of subscription a member pays the more access he will have to the content of the blog or website up to the level where all the content are displayed.
  • You can create a segmented subscription system where the different segments can view only certain pages applicable to this specific segment. Therefore, you can control not only the membership levels but also what content can be viewed regardless of the level of subscription.

Using Paypal to Charge for WordPress plugins

In order to process payments for charges on your WordPress site, WP-Member makes it possible and easy to install and to set up a free WordPress Paypal subscription to have you ready to collect payments and charges via Paypal in no time at all.

It is important to note that in order to ensure the effective functioning of your free WordPress Paypal subscription you need to pay attention to some settings.

  1. Email address – Make sure that the email address you use and your Paypal log in email address are the same. This is crucial for the correct allocation and processing.
  2. Return URL – This is the field where you can specify which site new members should be directed to after the Paypal transaction was completed successfully. As a rule, this field is normally filled by default, but you do have the option to change it to direct to another page of your blog or site of choice.
  3. Cancel URL – In the event where a person can not complete the transaction or cancel the payment process without making the payment successfully, this will be the page the person will be directed to.

This works in the same way as the return URL. It is likely that this field will also be filled by default by WP-Member plug-in and can also be altered to suit your specific requirements.

Are members receiving all the benefits of membership all at once with sign up or are you going to reserve some content or benefits for loyal members who maintain their membership and reward them in this way?
