How do I remove the wordpress logo from the login and register pages?
When we created wp-member we had one thing in mind, to create a membership plugin that would be least effected by wordpress updates. For example, we could have created extra features that removed the wordpress logo and changed your dashboard. But if wordpress released a new version that changed or altered these files, then your whole site could stop working. We decided that the number one thing we needed to be able to offer our users was a membership plugin that would have the minimum probability of becoming inactive due to a new wordpress release.
There are lots of free plugins around that can tweak certain parts of your site and by using these, if wordpress release an update that stops these functions from working, it will only be these free plugins that you would deactivate while your membership site continued running.
You may have seen some sites that have a very fancy login / register box. Here is an example of one we made using “bm-custom-login” plugin.
You can download bm-custom-login from their homepage here or via the direct download here
We have tested every login plugin we could find and bm Custom Login is by far the best as it does not try to do more than it needs to. Below are all the steps you need to complete to get this plugin up and running.
Step 1
First thing you need to do is design a login box for your site. If you have a logo, even better. Pick a nice background and then add your site name and logo to the top. The login box images are very large and are used to lie under the login and registration boxes as shown in the image above.
The plugin comes with a selection of images in one handy psd file. However, if you use custom registration fields in wp-member, this will extend your registration box and can go over the size of the image you are using. This will cause blank space at the bottom. Not a big problem, but we would recommend using a minimum of 1000 pixels high.
If you have photoshop, then you can download any of the login images and extend the bottom to whatever size you want, using the colour at the bottom as the background.
If you do not have photoshop or another image editing system, you can download our pre-made generic login images.
Step 2
Once you have picked a login image you want to use, you should extract the bm Custom Plugin that you can download above. It will extract to a folder called “bm-custom-login”. Open this folder and then open the folder called images. In here you need to paste the login image you want to use.
Step 3
Upload the “bm-custom-login” folder to the wp-content/plugins folder of your wordpress blog. Login to your blog and activate the plugin.
Now logout of your blog and you should see the login page. You can click on register to check how the register screen looks. If everything looks good, just remember to check this screen if you add anything extra to your registration page such as custom registration fields or terms.
Selection of psd & default generic login images
These images are in a zip file and are all set with a height of 1000. You can extend the height of these as much as you want should you need the extra height. The psd has a ready set text area for ease of use and to make sure you do not add text where boxes will be. The jpg images are set with a generic welcome message or the wordpress logo. If you need any other sizes and have problems making extending these or using the psd, please contact us.

That plugin is not up to date with 2.7

We are running this plugin on 31 sites running wordpress 2.7. Have you followed the instructions and created your own login image? If you do not create an image, the plugin will not seem to do anything except break your login/register page.
The plugin does not have any options within wordpress, so it may seem like it is not working.
Please contact us via our support section if you would like us to install it for you.
many thanks
